When people start planning a great party they start to think about the big things - time, place, food, beverages, and who to invite. A hostess is on top of her game when she can tie in all of the party elements together seamlessly. A great way to do this is to pick a theme and then coordinate all of the elements. A great invitation can be the launching pad to everything!
The invitation will set the tone to a party. It gives the guests a feeling of what the event will be like, causal and festive or formal and elegant. Here is a great example of how the invitation brought together everything for a perfect engagement party.
The bride, Katie, created a fun chevron patterned invite with our designers to replicate the proposal with a great tag line “she said…YES!”.
Katie brought the colors of the invite into every aspect the party - from the cake to the tablescape to the overall decor.
First, she made yard signs to direct guests where to go and used the chevron and tag line.
Second, at the patio arbor entrance, she had fantastic burlap, wildflowers, ornamental mason jars, and white twinkle lights. She also created a colorful monogram with the coordinating colors.
The tablescapes were elegant but fun! Bright white table clothes donned burlap runners with orange and pink placemats and napkins which provided a great burst of color. A mixture of mason jars with the tag line and chevron burlap containing tea lights and wildflowers was a wonderful table length centerpiece. Katie included pictures of the couple’s courtship amongst the mason jars to give it a personal touch.
To dress up the outside fireplace, Katie painted letters to spell out her soon to be new last name in the invite colors. A bold and festive conversation piece!
The dessert was a two-tiered cake decorated with chevron stripes, the event tag line, and topped off with the couple’s initials and a gigantic ring!
Katie wanted the remember this fun evening in a special way. She had the invitation matted and requested all the guests sign it and mark their congratulations for a wonderful keepsake.
Katie did a great job of incorporating all of the party elements - from the invitation to the smallest detail of this fantastic party. Congratulations on your engagement!
